High Traffic? No Problem!
Here at Paloma Home, we know a thing or two about high traffic areas and the need for quality products that last. Kids, dogs, my husband - nothing seems to take it easy on the good stuff. Rather, they're like moths to a flame in perpetual pursuit of the expensive, highly breakable stuff that we'd care not to lose. That's why we've made it our mission to partner with fellow moms and artisans who understand the need for things that last a lifetime despite all the love a full house has to give, and we're starting from the ground up!
As you know, there's nothing better than a full house, but it can certainly take its toll day in and day out. Lesser made products put to this test often fray, fade, pull, and lose their shape, requiring us to replace them more frequently, which in turn costs us more money over time and adds to the sustainability problem our generation (and definitely the next) currently faces. To counter this dilemma, we decided to search for products and materials that we know hold up against years and years of use.
Now, we know America isn't that old in the scheme of things - in fact, historically speaking, she's downright the baby of social experiments - there are rugs older than she is...yes, RUGS. So we started there, and landed here...in the land of Oushak rugs that can last for three or four centuries if given the proper care (which is surprisingly very little).
What is this sorcery we speak of?? Natural fibers made of materials intended to combat the freezing cold rain of the Scottish Highlands - yup, sheep's wool. We all know it to be true. Natural is better. We've used it for millennia, but for some reason, call it cost, profitability, or efficiency, we decided it was better to create synthetic materials. Now, don't get me wrong, these materials have definitely improved the lives of many; however, if given the choice, we'd choose natural and so that's what we're doing, and we're here to tell you - an Oushak rug, if given the chance (and please, give it a chance!), will only improve over time. Beautiful from the start, she wears like a fine wine, or a barrel aged whiskey, getting softer with each turn of foot.
So, no matter how many feet you have or what kind, whether it's your kids putting your rugs through the wringer or wild house guests that love to cut a rug, Paloma Home is crafting the perfect piece for whatever (and whomever) you're entertaining. And at the end of the day you can sleep well knowing the rugs under your feet are non-toxic, sustainable, and support other moms like you looking to make a difference in their own communities. And maybe, just maybe, that rug will be the link that binds generations in a pursuit of the good stuff for centuries to come.
